Since I have no idea

|

Since I have no idea of what to do with this page, I came to the great conclusion that I will just keep a journal for those who are interested in the life of a college man away from his family and his girlfriend. Not much goes on here in the dorm. A lot of sitting. So much sitting, in fact, that you get tired of sitting. After your class or lecture, you end up coming back to your room and sit around until someone asks you if you want to go and get something at the cafeteria (Pop's or Ed's Express). Of course, the mind thinks, "Good, something to do besides sitting." But in reality, you end up standing for 10 minutes while you wait in line. Once you have gotten your meal, you end up sitting for at least another half-hour while you and your friends finish up the meal. The thing going on after dinner, is studying the books, which of course, means you sit for another couple hours at a desk. Once the studying is done, then comes the time for recreation. Recreation in my room is computer. That almost always requires sitting.
As I see college is just a reason to sit around. Hopefully, by all this sitting I'm doing, I will come away with an education.

I have noticed something else

|

I have noticed something else about the college life. My usual sleeping pattern that I have had for the past 19 years has been turned all around. Since starting college, the time I sleep at night has decreased while the time I spend sleeping during the day is increasing. For some reason, I am compelled to stay up late until 1 a.m. or even 2 a.m. I am fully aware of the time and I just do not wish to go to bed. You might think that I'm not tired, but I'm very tired. It might have something to do with my roommate who also stays up late. I do not have any troubles falling asleep with him still playing on his computer or watching TV. If I wanted to I could fall asleep very easily. I just do not wish to climb up onto my lofted bed. I'll be half asleep in front of the TV or computer before I finally decide that I need to get to bed.
Most of the days I have class at 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning. After the first classes of the day, I usually have a break of two or three hours. That two or three hours is when I take sleep during the day. I know that I have class in a couple hours, but as I see it, "A few hours here means I won't be as tired for the rest of the day." So basically, I will stay up late for no reason and then waste my time during the day to catch up on the sleep I don't get at night. Even though I have consciously come to this conclusion, I do not change what I am doing.
