The Church

|

I was watching the Today show this morning when I woke up and caught an interview with a priest in the the Catholic Church. I'm not sure who he was but I believe he was a higher up in the Chicago area. It seemed that he was the first person from within the Catholic church to address some of the issues that I've been thinking about. I 've seen on the news that people are saying that if the priests were not celebate that there would be less child abuse cases. The priest on the TV said what I've been thinking a long time, a priest who abuses children will do so if he is married or not. People are making it sound like priests have this pent up sexual energy and they take it out on children. I do not think that pedophelia is related to the lack of marriage and intimacy. He did say that he thought that priests should be able to marry, but for the reason to try to cut down the cases of abuse. I wish more people had the same insights as this priest.
Changing subjects completely. I've registered for my last semester of classes. I'm taking 2 econ classes, a history class, and bowling! I'm real excited about the bowling class. I don't know why, but I must be a loser or something. I had to take it because I had only 11 credits and to be considered a full time student I have to be enrolled for 12 credits. The bowling class doesn't count towards any credits, but I didn't need it. I hope it's as fun as I'm thinking it will be. I also spent the whole weekend at the library. This past weekend has to the be the most time that I've spent at the library actually studying. I've gone to the library before and wasted 3 or 4 hours, but I studied for majority of the time. On Saturday, I think I spent six or seven hours at the library, just reading. On Sunday, I read for another four hours or so and worked on a practice exam. I have been studying for my Real Estate exam. If the second test is anything like the first I feel that once I go over the practice exam a couple times, I'll have a good grasp on the material.
The weather has be great for the past couple days. On Sunday I studied outside for a bit, until it got overcast and chilly. Today, it's supposed to hit 82 and the same tomorrow. No rain is forecasted until Wednesday, and then the temp drops to 70 and it's only down hill from there with a high of 59 later this week. I guess I'll have to wait a bit long for sustained warmth.
