Hated season

|

The season that I hate has started. Some people are excited about the upcoming summer and I am too. But I hate the things that summer brings. I hate the yard work season with a passion. I hate mowing the lawn. Weed whacking, tree trimming, and all the rest are on the list of things I hate about summer. The yard is not in maintenance mode yet. We still have a decent amount of landscaping to do before we hit upkeep only. We are aiming to get all the landscaping done before Mr. A's first birthday since we are planning a party for that. I'm trying to chip away a little at a time, but the past two nights haven't been as productive as I hoped. The last thing I want to do is go out side and deal with the yard. This weekend we have lined up my mom to watch the little man so we can dig into the list of to dos. We should be able to get a good jump on it since both days are supposed to be great.

Another bonus to getting all the landscaping done before June is that I start classes the second week in June. I'm only taking one class but it meets twice a week for 7 weeks. I'm just over 1/3 of the way through the program. Starting in September I'll be taking 8 credits each fall and spring semester. I'll still only be going to classes twice a week, but the classes run for 14 weeks versus 10 weeks. If everything stays on track I should finish after the spring 2009 semester.

There are still some things up in the air. I'm looking at doing a study abroad program in 2008 that will give me 4 credits. If I do this I'll finish off a semester early, but I'm not 100% sold on the idea. I'd like to go, but I don't want to leave Aves and Michelle for 10 days. In return, I would get my diploma 4 months early. Another challenge would be the funding. I haven't done enough digging to figure out how much the total cost would be. The U has the tuition rates for the programs but there is still lunch, dinner, and air that is not included in the cost. We'll see what happens and what programs fit in my schedule since I'm booked that August.

It's amazing how bad my grammar and sentence structure is. I just reread what is written above and it doesn't seem to make a tight coherent thought. Oh well, I've never been big on editing these posts because I like to think of this as a stream of conscious type dialog. Maybe it's because I'm half watching TV and half writing.
